Bergman Family

Hi, I am Teresa Bergman. I am the mother of Jace Bergman, a 15-year-old diagnosed with advanced PKD (polycystic kidney disease) just 3 1/2 weeks ago. PKD is a hereditary disease usually diagnosed at a much later age. Since Jace is adopted, we did not know to be on the lookout for this disease. He has always been a very athletic and active young man, and this finding came from just a routine blood test requested by his dermatologist. He receives dialysis three times a week but will need a kidney transplant. We live in a rural area, so we will need to travel a lot to make this happen.
