As an independent business owner, I don't really have a safety net. Like most people. I need to constantly work to meet my survival needs. This summer, I have been struggling with unexpected health issues and now most recently unable to work the past six weeks.
While in the hospital being treated, I caught a virus. That virus has proven to be particularly debilitating because it's given me a chronic throat infection and bronchitis, both of which I've had a hard time fully recovering from so far, and which separate me from my primary tool I use to earn a living, my voice (since I normally converse with clients all day doing readings.) I'm at a transitional point where I am beginning to see signs of improvement but also unable to work yet, and still in need of medical care. This fund is not to cover my medical bills from this summer, which far exceed this amount, but to help me bridge the gap while I make a full recovery so I can return to work.
I'm a relatively private person and so it's been hard for me to share how much has been going on, but a lot happened really quickly that has been difficult to recover from. Your donations will help me with rent, grocery deliveries, transportation to medical appointments, seeing an herbalist to help me get better faster, and other basic needs, like a dog walker on the days I am physically unable to walk my dog. The money I had saved got drained pretty quickly under the circumstances, so I am asking for help and the opportunity to heal while knowing my basic needs will be met. I recently moved to a new city, just before I got sick, and am far from family and friends, so that has given me less to fall back on in terms of support.
If my work has helped you in any way over the past three years, if you've benefitted from my content, or you simply have the means at this moment in time to offer assistance, I would be so grateful for your donations.
