Hospital bills for the Browns

Dear friends and neighbors, as many of you know, our beloved town clerk Liz Brown and her husband (and former selectman) Butch were involved in a 4-wheeler accident in northern Maine when a moose decided to run in front of them. Their insurance has declined coverage, so they are stuck with some staggering medical bills. Butch’s Lifeflight bill alone is over $21,000!


The Browns have agreed to let us all help them only under the condition that all funds go directly to pay medical bills – and not to them.

To jumpstart this, we as selectmen have pledged to match donations of $100 or more with $100 from each of us out of our annual stipends. Of course, any donation in any amount is welcome, but if you accept our challenge at the minimum $100 level together we can raise $2,600 right away!

Please dig deep, Alna. Let’s show the Browns how much they mean to us all.
