Hi, my name is Abbey, and I have the privilege of being one of Kailey's best friends since high school. I’m reaching out today because 2025 has been anything but easy for Kai, Joel, and their growing family.

On January 17th, the night before their baby shower, their world was turned upside down. Kailey, Joel, and their beloved dog Clyde were in a serious car accident. The crash was so severe that Kailey had to undergo an emergency C-section at just 33 weeks to save their baby girl. Kai spent five days in the hospital, undergoing not only the C-section but also two additional surgeries for a broken nose and thumb. Thankfully, Joel and Clyde weren’t physically injured, but the emotional toll on all of them was unimaginable.

After six long weeks in the NICU, their baby girl was finally strong enough to come home. With their newborn in their arms and Kailey on the road to recovery, they thought the worst was behind them. But life had other plans.

Just last week, they noticed Clyde wasn’t himself. He became lethargic, stopped eating and playing, and his lymph nodes were swollen. Their worst fears were confirmed after a vet visit and testing—Clyde, their sweet and healthy 5-year-old boy, was diagnosed with lymphoma. The news was devastating. Clyde isn’t just a pet; he’s family.

Now, on top of everything they’ve already been through, they’re facing 25 weeks of chemotherapy treatments for Clyde. With mounting medical bills from Kailey’s surgeries, needing a new car, their baby’s NICU stay, and now Clyde’s treatment, the financial strain is overwhelming.
