Help the Dennis Family Through the Unthinkable
Earlier this year, the Dennis family experienced a loss that shattered their hearts — a miscarriage that left them grieving the baby they had already loved so deeply. While they were still healing from that pain, they were blessed with another pregnancy and cautiously began to hope again for their rainbow baby.
On January 14, 2026, at just 34 weeks pregnant, Ciarra went to the hospital with contractions. What should have been a routine check quickly turned into a life-or-death emergency. Ciarra suffered a placental abruption and began hemorrhaging, requiring an emergency C-section. In a matter of moments, the Dennis family was faced with the terrifying reality that they could lose both Ciarra and their daughter, Meridyan.
By the grace of God and the incredible medical team, Ciarra survived and has since been discharged from the hospital. But their fight is far from over. Baby Meridyan remains in the NICU, receiving round-the-clock care due to being born premature and complications including jaundice. Each day is filled with emotional highs and lows as her parents spend as much time as possible by her side, praying for her strength and healing.
As if this journey wasn’t already heavy enough, tragedy struck again.
On January 28, 2026, while preparing to head to the NICU to see their daughter, the Dennis family was involved in a hit-and-run accident. A reckless driver slammed into their vehicle — their only means of transportation to the hospital — and fled the scene without stopping. Their car is now not operable, and insurance will not cover a rental vehicle, leaving them without reliable transportation to see their baby in the NICU.
No family should have to worry about how they will get to their child’s hospital bedside — especially after enduring so much loss and trauma.
