Honor Kevin "Special K" Cofield by Supporting His Twins

Help Support the Cofield Twins in Honor of Their Father, Kevin “Special K” Cofield

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Kevin Cofield, affectionately known throughout Austin’s community as Special K. On Friday, May 16, 2025, Kevin departed this world unexpectedly after experiencing a series of seizures. His loss has sent shockwaves throughout our city—his presence was monumental, and his absence is deeply felt.

Kevin was more than a man of many talents—he was a community steward. A devoted husband and father, Kevin was known as a jack of all trades: a beloved musician, Urban Fest Coordinator, incense artisan, security professional, and most importantly, a tireless advocate for both youth and the elderly. His passion for people and his commitment to service made him a cornerstone in countless lives.

But today, the community Kevin so passionately served, is being asked to serve his family.

Kevin leaves behind his loving wife, Angelia Robinson-Cofield, and three incredible children. Their oldest son, Jayden, currently attends Texas Tech. But it is their twins, Jaxson and Jaila, who now need us most.

On the very day their father passed away, Jaila was walking the stage to receive her Associate’s Degree from Austin Community College, a milestone she achieved while still in high school through the Manor Early College Program. She will attend the College of Health Professions, where she will major in Sonography.

Jaxson has committed to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he will play football and pursue a degree in Business.

These two promising young people, just days away from graduating high school (May 28th) and celebrating their 18th birthday (May 31st)—just two days before what would have been their father’s birthday—are now facing the unimaginable task of continuing forward without their father’s physical presence, encouragement, and financial support.

This GoFundMe has been created—with the full blessing of Mrs. Cofield—by family friend and community member Candice Cooper, to support the educational futures of Jaxson and Jaila.

Their mother is now the sole provider, and no financial aid or scholarships have been awarded to the twins at this time. This fundraiser is intended to ease that burden and honor Kevin’s legacy by continuing the very work he championed—supporting youth in their pursuit of success and education.

We humbly ask you—friends, neighbors, community leaders, and those Kevin impacted—to pour into this family during their time of grief. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Jaxson and Jaila's education and support needs.

This is a devastating moment for the Cofield family and our city. But through your generosity, we can help them begin to pick up the pieces. We can walk beside them as they learn to live without their beloved Husband and Dad.

Please give what you can, share this campaign, and keep the Cofield family in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to say their final goodbyes.

Let us honor Kevin by doing what he always did: showing up, supporting our youth, and wrapping our arms around those who need us.

With heartfelt thanks,

Candice Cooper
