Your donation will help establish the Faber Fedor Scholarship Fund at the School of Rock Somerville, giving young musicians the opportunity to pursue their passion and keep Faber’s spirit alive through the music he loved. This fund will be hosted by Music Out Loud (www.MusicOutLoud,org), a NJ non-profit and 501c3 charity.

About the School of Rock Somerville

The School of Rock is a performance-based music program that teaches students of all ages how to play, perform, and collaborate in real-world settings. From their very first lesson, students learn by doing—rehearsing, performing, and growing in confidence both on stage and off.

Located in the heart of downtown Somerville, the school has become a local hub for creativity and community, helping young artists develop skills that last a lifetime.

Why Faber Loved It

Faber was a familiar face at School of Rock shows, cheering from the front row, talking gear with the students, and encouraging their performances.

He admired the school’s mission to give kids a place to belong and to discover their voice through music.

Somerville was his home—and the School of Rock was one of the places that made it special to him.

Who Will Benefit

Donations will go toward a music scholarship fund to help School of Rock students who show dedication, talent, and financial need.

This fund ensures that cost will never stand in the way of a student’s opportunity to learn, perform, and grow as a musician.

Each scholarship will carry Faber’s name and his belief in curiosity, creativity, and community.

About Faber Fedor (1960–2025)

A longtime Somerville resident known for his sharp wit, intellect, and generosity, Faber blended technology, art, and community wherever he went.

He was a gifted programmer, a connector of people, and the mind behind Charity Opus—a social-impact publishing project that turns reading into a way to support good causes. Charity Opus reflected the same spirit that guided this scholarship: using creativity to make the world a little better.

Faber loved books, music, and any idea that brought people together.
