Hi my name is Carolyn Rojas,
I recently became aware of Lisa, a senior woman, who has been living with her dog in her truck. I also discovered not only is she homeless, she is battling colon cancer. As a result of the cancer, she now has a colostomy bag. My community has been very supportive with donations allowing her to reside in a hotel together with her dog through this cold and rainy weather. Ideally it would be wonderful if she could find permanent housing. Managing her colostomy bag has been challenging and she is susceptible to infection. She is unsure of her life expectancy and dying in her car would be unthinkable. Anything is appreciated that can help her remain stable with long term shelter being her greatest need. She is aware there are shelters but her medical issues can be daunting and embarrassing to deal with in public.
Thank you,
Carolyn
