Hip Surgery for Lani Moo

Our beautiful Lani Moo is deathly scared of fireworks. On the night before New Year's Eve she got so scared of the crackers that were already starting, that she crawled under my truck to hide, something she never does. Not knowing she was hiding under there, the truck accidentally ran over her,  smashing her back right hip and leg. We did an emergency surgery so she wouldn't bleed to death, and for the first few days she was in bad shape, barely moving and not able to go #2. We thought we were going to have to put her to sleep, and we agonized over what to do.

It's been a few days now, and thank God, Lani Moo is doing a lot better, limping around with a splint on her injured leg, going potty with our help. But the vet told us that without surgery, her bones and joint would not heal properly and she would deteriorate to the point of unbearable pain.

The initial hip surgery involves putting a supporting toggle pin in her hip joint, and that along with medication, costs $3500 + tax. Then the tibia repair, which comes after the hip surgery, will cost $2900 + tax.

I know it's a hard time for everyone right now, but if you are able to help us with Lani Moo's recovery, Tiger and I would be eternally grateful. We love our dog so much.
