Helping Ruben Recover

On August 9th, 2017 Ruben Alvarez found out that he was #3 on the organ transplant list for a new liver.  By August 11th he and his wife were on a plane from Oakland, CA to New Orleans, LA to be close to Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute.  After a long wait, Ruben went into surgery for a transplant on September 20th.  The surgery was successful and Ruben is recovering well, but there is a long road ahead for Ruben and his family.  Ruben has already had to take over 6 weeks off work and is anticipating another 2 months of recovery.  During this time, we feel that as his Kaiser family, we should come together to raise money to help him during this transition.
