Helping Pat and Shirley Ross

We’ve all been led and called upon to do certain things in our life by a greater power. Today, Dena and I have been called to act on behalf of a dear friend and former classmate Shirley Edwards Ross and her husband Pat who is currently hospitalized and fighting for his life and future mobility in the hospital. Pat and Shirley’s battle is all up hill and will require every ounce of energy they both have. They now have 2 battles to fight, one the medical and the other which is the cruel reality of what it takes to wage a battle that will take many months if not years to win. That cruel reality is the fact that even when your whole world is consumed by something this tragic, life goes on. The bills don’t stop coming, the yard needs mowed, car’s needs serviced, groceries bought and so on. You want and need to be with the one you love 24/7 but you can’t because of these obligations so you run on empty as long as you can doing the best that you can. In the short term the prayers, visits and well wishes lift you up but then the harsh reality of the long term is realized and leaves a person wondering how they will handle it all.

So, on behalf of Shirley and Pat there is now a Go Fund Me account set up to help with the immediate rough times they will both face and help them to concentrate on what’s most important, Pat’s recovery. We all can help and no amount is too small.
