On January 28th at 2:00 AM, I woke up with contractions already five minutes apart and lasting about a minute. We rushed to the hospital, expecting answers …and instead learned that we would be meeting our baby that same day.
Because our little girl was frank breech, I was placed in an ambulance and rushed to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where I underwent an emergency C-section. Our daughter was born at 11:50 AM that morning. While we are so grateful she is here, she arrived early and is currently in the NICU…This has been one of the most overwhelming and emotional experiences of our lives. Logan tried to return home to work, but mentally and emotionally he could not handle being away from his newborn and from me during postpartum recovery. Being alone in the hospital during this time has been incredibly difficult, and we’ve realized how important it is for us to be together as a family while our baby fights and grows stronger.
Unfortunately, having Logan here means missed work, on top of travel costs, food, hospital expenses, and regular bills that don’t stop. We truly hate asking for help like this ..it feels uncomfortable and vulnerable…especially after so much love and support from our baby shower and from family who have helped prepare our home for when we return.
But right now, taking even a small amount of financial stress off of us during this incredibly hard time would mean everything. Any donation or share helps more than we can put into words and allows us to focus on what matters most: being present for our baby and getting through this together.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, supporting, and keeping our family in your thoughts.
