Helping Nancy get back on her feet again!

Thank you so very much to all that have reached out with calls, prayers, messages and donations. Nancy is truly overwhelmed by the support she has received!

Nancy has been moved to Bay Breeze Skilled Nursing Facility. She is in Rm 406 and can have visitors. However if you are going by during the day it would be a good idea to call as she has therapy sessions at different times during the day.

My name is Julie Klein-Emanuel. Nancy Slatton-Hosler-Spottswood's friends are setting this up. Nancy fell from a step-ladder at her home very early Friday 2/28. She sustained two breaks in her right leg and also broke her back. The ends of the breaks in her leg were splinterd, so a plate had to be used along with 10 screws to hold the bones in place to heal. This means she will not be will be able to put any weight on it for six weeks. Thankfully her back did not require surgery. She is at Encompass in Pensacola. They have a very detailed and intensive rehab program. Our understanding is that she will then go to a regular rehab center for approx. 3 weeks, possibly longer.

As you all know, Nancy is a hairdresser and must be on her feet to do her job. She is going to be unable to work for at least 4 months, possibly longer. Her son Wade, his wife and daughter live with her. Wade is legally blind which limits what he can do to help. Wade is facing surgery for a herniated disc & compressed fracture of the spine that he is delaying due to Nancy's accident.

We, her friends, are reaching out to our huge, wonderful circle of friends to help with prayers and if you can, a donation. Nancy grew up in Gulf Breeze and worked at Casual Hair Salon since she graduated from Pensacola Beauty Academy in May 1972, eventually buying the Salon. She is a tireless volunteer at the East Bay Church on East Bay Blvd, formally (Midway Assembly), and is a well-loved member of our community. Thank you for anything you can do. God Bless all of you!
