Hello, my name is Mahmoud. I am writing to you from Gaza, where my family and I are no longer safe. We want to reach a safe place with the opportunity for a better future. The difficult and dangerous living conditions in Gaza have become more difficult than ever.

From the beginning of the war until today, disasters have struck. Our house was damaged, then we were displaced to Rafah, then returned to Al-Mawasi, then to another displacement that destroyed our livelihoods. We have been displaced more than nine times. But what helps me most is remembering the cold and fearful nights, surviving death and fleeing under the bombing and destruction.

Each time we were displaced, we lost a part of our hearts. We also lost a large number of relatives, neighbors, and friends in this war.

In the war, my university, that great educational institution, was destroyed. My work and studies, where I was studying engineering, were disrupted, as were my father's work and my brothers' university and high school studies.

All of these events have had a psychological and physical impact on the family.

Everyone has lost something they have lost. They have all survived various wartime events, repeated displacement, the lack of livelihood and famine we are witnessing, and the lack of access to education.

So, it took more than just heart and mind to understand what was happening and what they were going through in the war.

Our immediate goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of the family and provide them with the necessary healthcare and support. My brothers and I, once we settle in Egypt, aim to secure scholarships that will enable us to continue our education and build our futures. We are also committed to ensuring the safety of our family and children in Egypt, away from the dangers they currently face.
