This is my Unlce Tom and his daughter Selena of St. Petersburg, FL!
My uncle has been a single father basically since the day she was born (32yrs ago) as her own mother walked out on them after finding out she had a brain aneurysm and had to have emergency surgery. She has been his whole life and has had many ups and downs as one can imagine over 32 years with a disabled child, but one thing he’s never done is say he can’t do something for her or because of her. Tom is the strongest and most loving man I’ve ever known and he’s even had his own medical issues with having to carry her, pick her up and down from home made bouncers to the couch or bed, and cause him to get a hernia and sometimes I don’t even know how he does it all by himself. His only source of income is from the state and as we all know that can be a struggle in itself, as he is her sole caregiver and losing the only vehicle he had during hurricane Helene to a fire that started in the middle of the night after he had just went and cleaned out what he could from it being flooded after the waters had subsided.
Salena has always just been the happiest girl I’ve even know too, she never stops smiling and loves to give hugs to everyone and she couldn’t have asked for a better father in her life!
They deserve a break and hopefully raising a little money to hopefully get them a new vehicle he can use with her oversized wheelchair will be life changing for them both.
I am Chad Dudley and his oldest nephew and live in Kentucky, where I retired from the Army in 2016 and stayed. All I’m trying to do here is make sure my uncle and his daughter have a greater chance of getting a vehicle that will last them a long time. Please consider giving whatever you can to this cause and I will make sure that we find them the best car possible for their needs.
