Crista & Joe Testa's IVF journey to Parenthood

Hello, My name is Erik and i want to tell everyone about my Brother in law Joe and his wife Crista.  I have known Joe for 22 years.  We met as teenagers when I started dating his sister Marie.  I was introduced to Crista on Christmas day of 1998.  Joe and Crista dated during high school then went their separate ways after graduation.  Thru the many years of knowing Joe, he always talked about finding the right person and having a family.  Crista and Joe would date on and off for the next several years before realizing they were meant for each other and shared the same strong desire to have a family together so they started dating again.  They would go on to get married in September 2016.  They bought their house in Canal Winchester and started to plan their family.  Now here we are in February 2021.  Their plan for starting a family has been long and mentally tedious and physically exhausting but neither are giving up.

The struggle started in 2017 when Crista was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycistic Ovary Syndrome) which has led to infertility.   She had a procedure called laparoscopy where they inserted a camera in her belly button looking for signs of endometrial tissue outside the the uterus.  It was determined that Crista did not have endometriosis.   She was put on medication and endured 7 rounds of clomid or letrozole to help.  In December 2018 she went through a procedure called polypectomy to remove polyps from her cervix.  In May 2019 Joe and Crista went for their first IUI (intrauterine insemination) which was unsuccessful.   Their 2nd IUI was in June 2019 which once again was not a success.  In November 2019, after almost 2 years of battling severe back pain, Crista had to have back fusion surgery so all further attempts to become pregnant were put on hold.

In Summer of 2020, they met with their reproductive Doctor and his recommendation for the best opportunity of pregnancy was IVF (in Vetro Fertilization).   IVF is an expensive procedure so Crista and Joe researched their options and consulted with their doctors and found a place called CNY fertility.   Since it had been over 3 years, Crista had another laparoscopy to make sure she did not develop endometriosis during that time.

Joe and Crista, with the help of their doctors,  have decided that IVF gives them the best chances of becoming pregnant and starting their family they have dreamed of.

Their journey so far in the pregnancy process has not been easy and has been expensive.   They have invested close to $10,000 in procedures so far and now we need your help!

Your donations will assist Crista and Joe in their many trips to New York for IVF at CNY fertility.  They will have 5 to 7 trips back and forth ,and numerous test here locally.

Please donate if you can and if you can't thank you for listening to their story and please share.

In appreciation of your kind donations, Crista and Joe are having a wall hanging made with the names of everyone helping them make their dream come true.  The names will be printed around a picture of their first ultrasound and hung in Baby Testa's nursery.
