The first thing you look at is the pic! I'm not sure if you can see through the pixelations the depth and kindness of Yoss. Yeah, that was/is his name.
Yoss, Yosef Yitzchak Ben Rueven Heinich, was the most beautiful soul. He'd give you the shirt off his back and would save small animals everywhere he'd go. He loved to help....
So now let's help him....
It's a big blessing to be able to allow him to be honored and live through something physical. In Jewish tradition, when someone passes, especially young, it is deeply meaningful to have a sefer Torah written in his honor, and given as a way to help the community...
Sweet Yossel struggled with mental health issues after a rough divorce. He had a bad friend who really was unkind and created a lot of unhealthy habits in his life. Yossel developed bi-polar in his early twenties. One day during a manic episode, he needed to go to the hospital to be stabilized. The police came and were untrained and unaware of mental health cases and crises. Naturally, as in a manic phase, Yossel was scared of the police as they had hurt him in the past. When he strongly resisted and they got scared, they took out their guns. The police shot Yossel on his driveway. He was murdered at his own home in front of his (and my) mother.... mommy...
As his sister, I don't want his death to be a memory faded, but honored. He truly was a special, sweet soul who would give you the biggest hugs and laugh at his own silly jokes. He was super loving and I would really appreciate, my whole family would really appreciate, you donating to help his life be commemorated in this special way....
