Help animals affected by CA fires

The fires in northern California have been on all of our minds. Our hearts go out to the people and communities most impacted by these devastating fires. I have been especially concerned about the impact on the horses and animals in the area where I have gotten to know many horse and barn communities over the years. Hundreds of animals have been displaced and separated from their owners and it will be a long time before the animals will be returned home or reunited with their owners. Animals suffer from burns and smoke inhalation and injuries from the rescues. They need care and shelter until they can go home. In the meantime, several organizations are helping to shelter and care for these horses and animals. I have researched the most impactful, ethical, and sustainable organizations and have identified California Veterinary Medical Fund and Association (CVMF and CVMA ) as ones in need and very deserving of support. These organizations are on the front lines and devoted to helping animals in California especially during disasters. They provide emergency care for animals through a network of veterinarians and volunteers and are completely funded by donations. All funds raised will be used to help animals affected by the fires in northern California.
