My brother Doug and his family were in a horrific trafic accident October 12th, 2014 leaving both he and my niece in an ICU unit in a different state then that which they live in. Doug's wife and son are there with them. Doug has laceration damage to his left arm, 20 staples in his head, 5 staples on his face, his upper and bottom teeth are gone, broken arm, broken solder, 2 broken ribs, bilateral pulmonary contusion of a lung, and the C7 vertebra at top of neck is broken. Many surgeries are pending. My niece has 5 stitches underneath an eye, a skull fracture from ear to ear, brain swelling, and more. She has woken up from the induced coma and is responding with hand squeezes and has only opened her eyes for a brief second. More testing will be taking place for her.
