Corbyn's Cochlear Implant fund
Donation protected
Corbyn was born December 5 2017. She failed all newborn hearing tests that were done at 1 day old, 3 days old and again at 2 weeks old. We were referred to Cook Children's in Fort Worth where Corbyn had tons of testing done and we learned that she is bilaterally profound deaf. She has been wearing hearing aids since May 2018 although they do not help her to hear. We requested genetic testing as well. July 2018 we learned that Corbyn is a carrier of two different mutations which caused her deafness. We waited until after Corbyn turned 1 (due to FDA approval) to submit to insurance the request for cochlear implants. After finally getting approved for a surgery date, we have been hit with the financial burden of coming up with $3000 to be paid before she will be admitted. We have until February 26 to come up with the funding or we won't be able to have her surgery done. Corbyn is already so far behind her peers, at 14 months old her language is that of a 4 month old, we don't want her getting even further behind. Please consider donating so that our baby girl can hear our voices. If you are unable to donate, please, please, please share so that we can hopefully get all the funding needed and help Corbyn. #helpCorbynhear
