Help Bruce Beat Autism

Donation protected
Imagine having a child who cannot tell you what he needs, what he is feeling.  Imagine him pointing to the fridge in silent frustration, instead of saying ‘I want milk'.  Imagine yourself crying at night wondering if he will ever have friends outside of your immediate family, if he will read, laugh, get to access this beautiful world in all the ways you had hoped.

This is what we faced with our son Bruce.  Bruce was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 4 years old.  We were devastated.  And we started searching for answers and support.

Our search led us to The Son Rise Program, a unique parent-led training program that gave us our son back.  In 2008, shortly after Bruce’s diagnosis, my husband traveled all the way from blistering Las Vegas to Sheffield, Massachusetts, to the Autism Treatment Center of America (ATCA).

When he came home, he started working with Bruce one-on-one, using the techniques he learned at the ATCA.  ONE WEEK of using the Son Rise Program methods and Bruce was talking to us!  We were astounded and we knew we had made a wise investment in his future.

Bruce is now 9 years old.  He can read.  He has made miraculous changes.  But he still has daily tantrums and other challenges.  We are a family of 6, with 2 special needs children, and it is a very full plate, overflowing in fact.

We can no longer finance this program alone.  We need your help.  We are asking everyone we know to SHARE this story and to DONATE to help us continue our work with Bruce.

Your donation directly funds:

*Program fees

*Travel expenses (Bruce will go with us to Massachusetts this time!)

*Childcare

*Training for us

*Training our volunteers

*Playroom Equipment

*Household Support

If you have read this far, I thank you.  Autism now affects 1 in 68 children in this country, so it is not a stretch to say you probably know someone right now whose life is impacted by Autism, a friend, a daughter, a co-worker.  Please SHARE OUR STORY so they can hear that there is hope, and if you can DONATE, we would be so very grateful!

Sincerely,

Oscar, Melissa, Maya, Bruce, Alora and Duke…The Sagastumes
