My mom Dina Schmidt is a very hard-working single mom who supports herself, me, and my special needs brother Giovanni by cleaning offices 6-7 days per week. Mom fell hard and hit her head on a brick step, and now has a traumatic brain injury.   This is a photo of her in the emergency room.   She is still in bad shape, too dizzy to walk and still feels terrible.  I don't know when she will be able to work again.  Mom tries to keep us out of poverty.  I want to be the first in my family to go to college and am lucky to have a scholarship to a great high school (Bellarmine). I work all summer every summer and when I can during the school year.  I hate asking for help but we are scared, and I need to take care of my mom and brother.  Thank you so much for any amount you can give to help us with rent, utilities, medical bills, and expenses while Mom recovers.  God bless you and thanks.
