A new life for our family away from death

Hi, my name is Rasha and even though I live in Los Angeles now, I am originally from Palestine and Jordan. This latest conflict is far from over but I am trying to bring some hope, food and medicine to a family in Gaza. You can find me on IG @xo_rasha.

Here is their story, written by the 23 year old college graduate Yasmin:

Hello, My family living in Gaza consists of my mother, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. We were all forced to leave our homes which were all destroyed from the ongoing crisis in Gaza city and evacuated to South of Gaza.

We lost our lives, our home, our property, our car, and all our memories.

My father died in 2009 and we were raised as orphans.

My mom who suffers from chronic diseases (hypertension and diabetes), hasn’t received any medical care since the crisis started and is not able to get her medications.

I am Yasmin, I am 23 years old. I graduated the day before the war and I work as a content writer for a Jordanian company, but I lost my job and my dream because of this genocide.

My Older sister Eman, 25 years old , a brilliant English language teacher and trainer she was preparing to get her masters degree in applied linguistics and translation studies. Unfortunately her university now is completely destroyed as well as her bright future.

Mohammed 21 years old, a promising graphic designer and a student at the third year of college. This genocide has prevented him from achieving his dreams.

Abdullah 20 years a student at the second year of college. He was badly injured in his leg and with this crisis their dreams have been destroyed in Gaza and now they are just seeking for their safety and secure food and water for the family.

My married sister has two kids under the age of three. She had to relocate a few times and is currently living under extreme hardship. She completely lost her home as well.

This crisis left everyone in my family separated without proper shelter, food and source of income. This has made their everyday lives extremely challenging and frightening.

With your generous donations, I’m hopeful that I can help with the expenses in relation to the evacuation from Gaza and relocation to be reunited with us in Egypt. This donation will help with the following:

- Cover the costs associated with the required safe passage to Egypt. Currently, the rate to evacuate Gaza is approximately $5000 to $7000 USD per person.

- Cover the essential needs to remain in Egypt .

- Help with some of the financial support and essential needs such as clothing, transportation and schooling when they arrive in Egypt.

- Portion of the donations will go directly to my remaining family members in Gaza helping them obtain food and clothing.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated and will go directly towards addressing our urgent needs.
