Hello, we are Doreen and Jorge. We have 2 children, ages 23 and 33 years old. Our oldest, works for the government. Due to the impact of the government shutdown, he has been struggling to buy food, pay rent, gas and electric, and manage everyday living. He has 2 cats and live in an apartment . He is a plumber and loves his job. Unfortunately, he is still having to work 5 days a week with no pay. We are doing a food drive to help him and his coworkers.

My husband and I are very involved with our community. We have volunteered for a local soccer league for the past 25 years and have helped many kids love the sport. We have also lived in our home for 31 years and have gotten to know our neighbors very well. We have Christmas parties, Halloween parties, birthdays, yard sales, and just hang out: they are our FAMILY.
