As most already know, our son  Kier crashed his motorcycle. The good news: Kaiser will give him excellent care for the many issues that follow a sudden stop from 40 mph, a couple bounces along the pavement, and the brain hitting the inside of his cranium as it, too comes to a sudden stop from 40 mph.
The financial bite: in order to keep down the whopping premiums for a family of 5, their insurance has a deductible of $8,000 per year. 
And as a self-employed contractor with a smallish team, it may be a while before Kier can start his next project.
So I persuaded him to let his friends help.
