Help with ferret medical bills!

Meet Dio! Adopted into the family in early 2015, Dio quickly planted his roots into my heart, so much in fact that I have deemed him my emotional support animal. He is the sweetest, softest, kindest little soul I've had the pleasure of.  He has a sister, Ukiah, who is one year younger than him, they are inseparable.  Dio is a giant goofball with a wild personality and a preference for freeze dried liver treats and lots of tickles/wrestling.

We think Dio may have insulinoma. He has a swollen kidney and spleen according to his x-rays. Further blood work is underway and he will need an ultrasound, and eventually medication/surgery. So far he has been very sleepy and unwilling to play with his sister... I know she misses him very much and it's agonizing to see their relationship suffer. He will need some extensive accommodations in the near future, some of which we have already begun... being that his legs are getting pretty uncoordinated, his multi-level enclosure has now been modified so that he gets all of the bottom to himself so he doesn't have to do any climbing or jumping to eat or go to the litter box.

Dio's well being is my number one priority. I have already looked into the possible treatment methods, and am willing to do anything and everything in my power to keep him as comfortable as possible. We are very lucky to have caught this so soon before it causes serious distress for him. I realize ferrets are an exotic pet and they are known to be costly, I have prepared myself for some of that.... What I haven't prepared for is the emotional toll most ferret people dread, and the abrupt financial drain.

I cannot begin to explain how much financial support could help us right now. All of my savings are subjected towards his treatment journey at this point, and it would mean the world to him to spend as much quality time with those who love him as possible. Ukiah needs him, and I need him, and I know you need more cute pictures of him. So please know that your donations to him will exclusively go towards him, his comfort, his treatment, and your security knowing that you are doing good in the world to help this very special little weasel.

We would like to give you the most outstanding thank you for being here and reading this today. It would be greatly appreciated to share our story, and donate, if you can. We are grateful for  any kind thoughts our way and appreciate your graciousness.

Updates on our treatment and health plan (with photos) will be included so you can get ongoing assurance that he is doing well and enjoying life.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy your summer <3
