We are asking for your help to keep Vista Lanes open.
Vista Lanes closed its doors on March 16, 2020 because State of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's stay at home order. Our expenses continue to accumulate even though we are not allowed to resume normal operations.
In September 2020, Vista Lanes reopened with restrictions, sanitizing polices, face masks and the taking of temperatures of all customers and employees.
Vista Lanes had to close the doors because of another state mandated closing in November.
Shortly before Christmas, Governor Whitmer announced bowling centers could reopen but only with rigorous restrictions. The restrictions placed on bowling centers make it impossible to reopen for business. No food or beverages of any kind. League play was prohibited and open bowling was restricted. The poker room could not reopen and the high school bowling season has been delayed.
With the above restrictions, we could not cover employee wages, and taxes. Vista Lanes has been forced to be closed since March 16th , and we do not know when we will be able to reopen.
Vista Lanes has been around for 60 years, first named Sand Bar Lanes, The Huebel family; Bob, Sue and Rob bought and changed the name 39 years ago to Vista Lanes & Lounge Family Fun Center. It has been their love and passion for all those years.
Vista Lanes is a fun place and a business. A business needs customers and cash flow to survive. We have been forced to close but still have all the bills: property taxes, utilities (water, gas, electric, tv, phone), mortgage payments, loan payments, insurance and other related expenses but zero income.
We need help financially; Bob has collected unemployment but most of that money has help support the business expenses during the closing.
Vista Lanes has been a main source of entertainment and functions for the residences of Oscoda for many years; league & open bowling, youth leagues and high school bowling with coaching, tournaments along with community events like weddings, baby and wedding showers, family reunions, and Karaoke just to mention some of what we offer.
We have weekly Charity Poker Tournaments that support many of the local charities. All the above will be gone if Vista Lanes closes.
Please help as we have spent everything we have to keep Vista Lanes alive.
