Special needs equipment fundraiser

Hi, my name is Kara & I am the mother to the sweetest 9 year old boy named Jameson. Jameson was born to us with a plethora of medical anomalies. He is non verbal & unable to walk independently. I’ve never asked before publicly for help like this but we are in need of equipment for Jameson that is quite expensive. Jamesons brain functions in many ways in that of an 18 month old. Without supervision or placement in specialized equipment he will self harm or get into things that could cause danger. Up until today he was safe in three places. His feeding chair, his stander & his safety bed that closes in.

Jameson is a tall 9 year old growing boy. He’s become stronger & more strong willed. He figured out how to move around in the feeding chair & could easily fall sideways in the chair causing head trauma. We are unable to take our eyes off him now when he’s in that chair. It is a huge safety concern & not somewhere he is able to be without constant supervision.

We put him in his stander to work on his leg strength & gate training & to give us moments to get certain things done around the house knowing he was safe. But now Jameson has figured out how to slide out of it, however not all the way, just enough where he gets stuck near his neck. A possible death trap if we step away for even a minute.

We have worked with insurance but the battle of getting equipment in a timely manner is unrealistic. We are currently in the trenches of getting a new stroller too because outings with him are not easy anymore without a stroller. but all these vital pieces of equipment cost so much. Honestly it’s sad just how much!

Sadly, Jameson is safe now in only one place. His bed. & it’s not fair for him to be confined to that spot for hours just because we know he’s safe so we can focus on house chores or the fact that we have two other little kiddos who need our time & focus as well.

We need help. Anything towards getting him better equipment & it getting to us faster is all we want. This was hard for us to do. We are a family who handles these matters quietly. But I am not afraid anymore to be real & to ask for help.
