❤️ Help Us Save Long Story Irish Pub – Our Community’s Home in San Diego

My name is Kyle Schubert, and I’m the owner of Long Story Irish Pub here in San Diego. Moving here 7 years ago to build this pub, and meet all of the wonderful locals has been one of the joys of my life, but even more importantly—it has become a home for so many of you. From family dinners and first dates, to birthdays, job celebrations, celebrations of life, little league wins, graduations... and simple nights unwinding over burgers and wings, this pub has seen years of your laughter, your stories, and your memories.

Today, I’m asking for help that I never imagined I’d need.

Like many small businesses, we’ve been hit hard. Rising costs, slower foot traffic, and unexpected setbacks have pushed us close to the brink. We’ve been doing everything possible to stay afloat—cutting costs, taking on extra hours, hosting community events, literally giving away food to ensure people know we are here...and fighting every day to keep our doors open.

But now, we’re at a point where we cannot make it without community support.

Why this matters

Long Story isn’t just a pub. It’s a place where:

-20 incredible employees support their families

-Our neighborhood finds connection and comfort

-Travelers become friends

...And where the warmth of our family based hospitality is shared every day.

My biggest fear is not losing our business—it’s losing the team that has become my family, and losing a place that means something to so many people.

Looking at the big picture, we are not focused on monetary help as much as we are hoping more for more visits. We know times are tough. We want our friends, and their friend to come into the pub and enjoy a pint, an amazing meal and amazing service. We want to fill the bar with our friends, family and neighbors!
