Hello family and friends I’m Melissa. As most of you know Olivia was born with two rare diseases one of them being really hard to treat (congenital hyperinsulinism) which causes hypoglycemia (extremely low blood sugars). We knew that eventually we would have to take her to CHOP (children’s hospital of Philadelphia) but it’s costly so we put it off as long as we could. Well the time has come where we have to bring her for better care and to finally get answers that we need. If you’re asking yourself why CHOP? Well here’s why… CHOP is thee only hospital in the world who has the most knowledge on Congenital Hyperinsulinism. They know what tests to run, what meds to give, and how to control it in general. Boston children’s in an amazing hospital we cannot ever say anything bad about the care we receive there but she needs more care then just Boston children’s she needs these certain specialists that specialize in just CHI. Liv bug is our world our everything our last baby and we will go above and beyond to get her the care she truly needs with that being said I’m hoping our family and friends will also help us get to Philadelphia on December 1st for her first visit with the specialists out there. We are asking for help because Shawn will be laid off by then and he’s our main source of income. So far we know we would need to stay there from November 30th until December 2nd and we will also be going back for a longer stay. We would need to book a hotel stay, plane tickets (we cannot drive due to how long we will be on the road and it poses a threat to her sugars), food for Shawn, myself, and Olivia and an uber to and from the airports and to the hospital. We absolutely hate asking for help but we have to put our pride to the side and do this for our princess. If you could please help us we would truly appreciate it even if it’s just $1 if you’ve read this far and cannot afford to help that’s ok we get it but a simple share would go a long way thanks so much everyone ❤️
