Socorro falleció el 24 de enero de 2021. Fue muy querida y respetada por todos los que la conocieron. Socorro nunca supo la palabra extraño, siempre estaba dispuesta a hacerse amiga de alguien. Aunque nunca se llamó a sí misma, fue una activista de mucho tiempo en Boyle Heights. Se organizó en su comunidad de la mejor manera que conocía, llamando a sus amigos y familiares. Su cocina era el consuelo de la comunidad. Siempre estuvo dispuesta a ayudar a los demás organizando eventos para recaudar fondos. Siempre usando su cocina para ayudar a los demás. Su chile era mundialmente famoso. Aunque se ha ido, siempre será recordada por el amor que siente por su familia, su comunidad y todo lo relacionado con los elefantes.

Socorro passed away on January 24, 2021. She was well loved and respected by all the those who knew her. Socorro never knew the word stranger, she was always willing to befriend someone. Though she never called herself one, she was a longtime activist in Boyle Heights. She organized in her community the best way she knew how, by calling on her friends and family. Her cooking was the comfort of the community. She was always willing to help others by arranging fundraisers. Always using her cooking to help others. Her chile was world famous. Though she is gone, she will forever be remembered by her love of her family, her community, and all things elephant.
