The outpouring of aid to Turkey has been remarkable. Search dogs, medical supplies and personnel, as well as rescue teams, are amazing.

Unfortunately, there is a huge amount of animals still in great need trapped under rubble, wandering the streets hungry and cold ; stray but also those who once had a loving home now loosing everything, heartbroken and not knowing how to survive in Turkey streets.

Pets in Turkey is a wonderful rescue that works very hard every day with no fanfare. They are a non-profit registered charity in Switzerland, number 080.711.003 ; I got the chance to visit them in Izmir and to know the One extraordinary woman, Sibel who is behind thousand of dogs and cats saved from shelters and streets, fighting for them tirelessly with often her own family pockets to pick in.

She quietly save so many lives since more than 10 years, she care for them,feed them, board them, rehome them and start again without searching for recognition, fame or anything other than animals well being. Spay, neuter, return the other ones and feed them every day.

At this juncture, they are overwhelmed and I know how small is the help they get versus how extensive are the monthly expenses.

Around 80 dogs and 8 cats are waiting for homes in two boarding facilities, no streets anymore but each animal requires $100 monthly for his care including boarding space.
The elderly and special needs are being always fostered in her own house, sometimes 10 animals at a time. They need not only medicine but also great energy and time.
The veterinary, clinic debts $15’000 couldn’t and can’t be paid because of the non stop ongoing monthly expenses.
992 lbs of dog and cats dry/wet food + medicines and basic necessities were sent last week to the region of earthquake.

send.

Last but not least, The PetsInTurkey small rescue team will go to the forgotten and inaccessible areas of Deprem where others are not going, to help the animals overlooked and still waiting for someone to rescue them. They’re cold and they’re hungry.

Even with the staggering medical costs and boarding near capacity, Sibel will welcome the earthquake victims that have nowhere to go and no one to go home to but she needs our help.

She didn’t ask for anything and I’m doing this fundraiser by myself because I know how big is the difference we can make.

I know very well that great things can be achieved when animal lovers come together, I see it every day for the dogs i network and I’m begging you to join me for this cause extremely close to my heart.
