Help Trish beat cancer - Hope for the Russo’s

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lacey. Today I’m fundraising for my best friend Trish and her family, during one of the most difficult and straining times in their life.

In July 2021 Trish was diagnosed with Stage IISB Hodgkins Lymphoma after a long watch and wait process from February to July. In February she was hospitalized for Crohns Disease and a severe kidney infection that caused her to become septic and it was discovered through many tests that it was seemingly Lymphoma. They followed process and did “watch and wait” with constant monitoring and testing until July when she had severe sepsis that lead to a 5 week hospitalization. During this hospitalization Trish had countless scans, biopsies and was officially diagnosed after having intractable fevers and developing endocarditis from being in septic shock, her heart was “vegging” and threw a blood clot to her spleen which caused necrosis to a portion of the spleen. After a series of testing they learned the lymphoma was primarily in her spleen and thalamus and the big reason for so many episodes of sepsis. Because of it being in the thalamus after being adequately treated for the sepsis, the fevers did not go away. On a daily basis she currently lives with excessive vomiting, fevers ranging from 102 to 104, among other symptoms. In early November she began integrative therapy for the Lymphoma while still trying to manage the Chron’s Disease and other chronic health complications.

Because of the many health complications Trish has undergone and being a stay at home mom to 4 kids and homeschooling, she is unable to work. Her husband is a firefighter and the sole provider for a family of 6. He has had to take time out intermittently to care for the kids during extended hospital stays or even in the day to day because the symptoms are too much at times. During this time, I’m hoping to help cover some of the expenses that they fell behind on during Trish's 5 week hospitalization from July 11th 2021 to August 24th 2021, as well as expenses that may come up while they are in this difficult time and help take some of the pressure off of them, including things like groceries, heating bills, utilities, and any procedures or hospital bills that may come up not covered by health insurance. This fund has been set up with their permission.

Lets take a moment to get to know about Trish and Danny. Trish has a degree in nursing and worked for a brief stint at Newport Hospital before being to ill to continue working. Daniel has a degree in English but always had a passion to become a firefighter so began persuing a public safety career by becoming an EMT and getting as many certifications he could until getting on the job in 2017. The two met when they were 11, and Danny knew he was going to marry Trish. After many years they reconnected and were married and pregnant with they first baby. The unfortunately had a late term miscarriage due to health complications Trish suffers from and later went on to have 4 children. Bradley (8), Colton (5), Arianna (4), and Jameson (2).

When you picture starting out your life together you don’t generally think this is how the path will go; however, they both feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support by all of those who have expressed they’re version of support. Whether its prayers, check ins, cooking meals, helping with the kids, etc. They would be completely lost without the love and support of their amazing families and friends who have always put them first and been their unconditionally.
