Help Tn 2020 tornado victims- The Savage Family
The Savage’s
Tracy Savage and her boyfriend Niel Cole woke up on Monday, March 3 to the alarm of a tornado warning, within seconds they could hear that something was terribly wrong. They had just enough time to shut the bathroom door, when the roof was ripped off and the house started to come down. Tracy held on to anything she could while Niel was thrown airborne, he was able to lift debris off himself after he landed, but immediately went in search for Tracy. Not able to see he followed her screams for help. He dug into a pile of debris until he found her with the bathroom sink on top of her. Upon standing up, Tracy recalls watching the tornado in the distance terrified that it would come back. They ran to the neighbors home, and as a few neighbors came together, they all prayed together. They were later brought to the hospital by those neighbors in fear that first responders were unable to retrieve them from Hearld Ct.
Tracy Savage has 3 children, all of which were not staying at home at the time of the tornado. Bryric (22), who is currently a student at MTSU stays near campus. Her daughters Deja (17) and Cheri (14) were sleeping at their grandmother’s that night. It’s amazing that Tracy and Niel survived. Sophie (the family’s standard poodle) was found and brought to the shelter where the family was able to get her back with minor injuries. Even their cat, Lenny was found by Cheri when she went to see the home the next morning under rubble. We are all so thankful that we can wrap our arms around this special family. When I asked how they could have possibly survived this horrific event, I was told, “prayers and angels”.
As the Savage’s piece together and rebuild their lives we ask that donations be made to help. They have lost everything, their home was torn apart down to the foundation. pictures have been found of them 15 miles away. They literally have nothing. Tracy’s car was totaled as well as it was thrown across the yard.
No donation is too small and every penny is appreciated. Thank you for your time in reading their story of survival and God Bless.
