Just a few days ago, I was happily celebrating Christmas with my brother, Jeff, sister-in-law, Lindsey, and my niece, Hayden at my mom's house in San Diego. Jeff and his family returned to their Colorado home this week and not long after, had to evacuate due to the fires. While other homes on their street survived, theirs did not. They managed to leave with some precious mementos and a few of the essentials, but there is much they could not take with them. Fortunately they are safe and finding a place to stay during the interim, but it will be awhile before they can get settled in a new home.
