Help the Rivers Family Through This Difficult Time

Hello my name is Katie Rivers. My husband Kevin Rivers and I lost our daughter Janessa Rivers do to a train accident. On May 23, 2025 in Clay County Missouri. We have not placed any information about our daughters passing in the media, newspapers, or Google search. The reason is because Janessa's investigation is both local and federal each running separately. Due to that it's going to be severel months before we know everything there is to know. Unfortunately despite our personal world is at a stand still. The rest of the world keeps spinning and the bills are starting to roll in. We have been trying not to make this page but it's clear that going back to work just isn't going to happen for a few more weeks. As parents we pray no other parent every knows the pain of losing a child. We know that will never be reality but it doesn't hurt to hold out hope. Everyone has asked if we need anything. Unfortunately what we need no one could ever give us back, but we could use a little help staying afloat until we can go back to work. We know everyone is struggling to stay afloat themselves but at this point anything would help a great deal!! Janessa had a huge heart and when she loved people she poured everything she had into all of us. She would always try to help those she loved and those she could see needed a helping hand. She is the reason Kevin and I became foster parents to help her friend. She had a huge heart and the personality to match. She was excited and proud of herself about her new promotion at work that she got the same day she left this earth. She couldn't wait for her birthday and had tons of plans to travel. Now her bucket list has become our little family's bucket list. We do greatly appreciate your prayers, text, calls and love in this time of need.
