Help the Noke Koî people in the Timbaúba Village

Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am Kaio, and I am here to ask for your help in supporting a cause very close to my heart. We need to assist the Noke Koî people of Timbaúba Village, located deep in the Amazonian forest along the Gregório River in Brazil, in their pursuit of better living conditions and a community kitchen.

The Noke Koî, like many other indigenous people, have endured years of captivity and forced labor in rubber plantations, which only came to an end in recent decades. Despite these hardships, they are renowned for their well-preserved culture, fluency in their native language, and their strong traditions in forest medicines. Particularly on the Kambo medicine.

Currently, 12 families in the village are sharing living spaces within 6 old, damaged wooden houses, posing significant safety risks to all inhabitants. This project aims to build 12 safe and sustainable houses and a community kitchen using locally-sourced materials and skilled labor. Your generous donations will not only improve the quality of life for the Noke Koî people, but also help preserve their rich culture and traditions for future generations. Additionally, by employing local workers, we can foster regional development and create a lasting positive impact.

I am coordinating this campaign on behalf of Paka Chay Kamãnawa, a youth leader of the Noke Koî people. Born on the Gregório River in Noke Koî indigenous land, Paka has part of his mother's family with origins in the Yawanawa people. At the age of 7, he began studying the sacred forest medicines under the guidance of Romoya Kochti, the oldest Noke Koî shaman.

A few weeks ago, I had the life-changing opportunity to experience the healing powers of the forest medicines administered by Paka and his wife Rorá during a ceremony. This experience deeply moved me, as I was healed from sicknesses that I had suffered from my entire life. It inspired me to initiate this campaign to improve the lives of the Noke Koî people and support the preservation of their invaluable wisdom.

The Noke Koî community has meticulously planned and budgeted the entire project, which you can review at this link. They need our support because rebuilding their culture and way of life is not as simple as just living in nature. We must come together to ensure their traditions and knowledge are preserved and passed down to future generations.

We pledge to maintain complete transparency throughout the campaign and will provide regular updates to all donors on the progress made. Please join me in making a real difference for the Noke Koî community. Any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping these resilient people secure a better future. Thank you for your generosity!
