For those of you who don't have the privilege of knowing these two phenomenal folks, let me tell you a little about them:
In addition to being all around pretty freaking amazing human beings, over the past few years Stephanie and Logan have been foster parents. They've opened up their home and provided respite and shelter to numerous kiddos when they've needed to know they had a safe, loving space to land for a period of time.
Most recently, they are parenting two darling baby girls. The older is only a few weeks older than our Lola, and we're already planning a best friend after school special for them to host together. The younger is only a few months old and has some special needs, including downs syndrome.
We're all completely in love with these two babies (Steph and Logan the most of course) and were heartbroken to hear this week that both have ended up in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) at St. Louis Children's Hospital with RSV. Stephanie and Logan, being the amazing parents they are, haven't left their sides.
Seeing babies you love struggle to breath, have to be hooked up to breathing machines, and be pokes and examined constantly is hard enough, but having it happen a few days before Christmas seems extra cruel. We're all praying the girls get healthy and home with these two parents soon.
Please consider donating something to help out this amazing family. Logan is out a paycheck from needing to be at the hospital so often this past week and they have extra expenses like pet boarding and food while they're away from home that pile up really quickly, not to mention whatever medical costs they end up having to cover.
We know these two have an incredible support system of friends and family (blood and chosen) that cannot physically be there to support them and wanted to make a way for us to lend even a small amount of help to them in the midst of this hard, scary time. Please help us support them as they spend the girls' first Christmas in the hospital and return to them a small portion of the amazing love they put out into the world each day.
