My name is Katy Finocchiaro and I live in New Jersey. As many of you know, Hurricane Florence hit North Carolina with a vengeance, and the result, was devastating. My parents live in Hampstead, NC. Their development was flooded due to the high water level of the Cape Fear River, causing an overflow to turn their non flood zone neighborhood, into a lake. As a result of not being classified a flood zone, they were never required to acquire flood insurance. Their homeowners insurance sadly will not pay for any damages. They've worked hard all of their lives to provide them with the means to retire and enjoy life. Now, they've got to pick up the pieces to restore what Florence has so devastatingly taken from them. Please help me raise enough money for my wonderful parents, so that they may start to restore what the flood waters will have destroyed.
