As a community of neighbours we are supporting our best friends as they have all contracted covid this month. They are a family of five children, husband and wife. Alphonsine, the mother, is five months pregnant and was admitted to an ICU and intubated in critical condition, in Halifax on October 5th. Paul, the father has been demoted to part time work during covid and is entitled to no benefits. This family are newcomers to Canada and in desperate need of financial help to alleviate the stressors of this time. EI is not adequate to support their financial needs from this month and the unforeseen future of Alphonsine and the newborn’s medical needs. Anything you graciously give will be thankfully received directly by this family to pay for rent, groceries and expenses that come up from the hospital stay!
