Help Support UCLA Taara's 2025 Competition Season!

Hello! We are Taara at UCLA, a student-led Indian Classical Dance team dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich traditions of Indian Classical arts—including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi—through performance, education, and storytelling. As a competitive, award-winning team, we proudly represent UCLA at national competitions that celebrate cultural diversity and artistic excellence.

This year, we’ve had the honor of competing at several national stages, including Sitaara (in Seattle, Washington), Nakshatra (in Madison, Wisconsin), and the World Cultural Dance Competition. Besides this, we are currently preparing for Rasānubhava: A Celebration of Indian Classical Arts, a live collaborative performance with Indian Classical Music at UCLA. This on-campus production will showcase classical dance and live Carnatic and Hindustani music, highlighting the deep-rooted beauty of South Asian art forms.

However, these initiatives come with a heavy financial burden—with costs ranging from traveling across the country to covering lodging and competition fees. As passionate students and dancers, we rely on your generosity to help bring our vision to life. Your support will directly fund our national performances and local showcases, helping keep Indian Classical Dance accessible, visible, and celebrated.
