From Ell:
Thank you.
I would sincerely like to thank everybody that has supported the boys and I over the past weeks and are continuing to do so. Kristi's passing has left a massive hole in our lives and we are chipping away each day trying to find our new normal. I am struggling to find the words that adequately convey the thanks and appreciation we have for all your love and support. From the bottom of our hears, thank you.
Elliot, Paxton and Jasper
Hi, for those that don't know me I've been friends with Ell for over 20 years, meeting him, like many of you, through sport (in my case Riverside Cricket Club). As you are all aware, a much-loved member of our community, Elliot's wife, Kristi Smale, lost her long battle with cancer last month.
She leaves behind her husband Elliot, and their two boys Paxton and Jasper who are so fortunate to have had her in their lives but are now faced with the difficult task of finding their feet with their new normal. They have been so grateful for the love and support they have received throughout Kristi's battle and over the last month since their loss.
Most of us have been lucky to be at the receiving end of Elliot's kindness and willingness to help out in any way he can, with his active involvement in the community, often through sport, at Riverside Cricket Club, Greensborough Junior Football Club and St Mary's Basketball. There isn't anything he wouldn't do to help out anyone he meets.
Ell and the boys are now in need of our support.
Many of you have reached out to me asking how you can best support Ell and the boys. Now Ell is faced with the challenge of juggling having the time to process his grief and support the boys through theirs, and the financial need to get back to work.
With Elliot's permission I have set up this page for those who are wanting, and able, to show their support for Ell and the boys. To allow Ell to take the time he and the boys need and not rush back in to work before they are ready. It is not in Ell's nature to ask for help but I know he wouldn't hesitate to lend a hand to any of us (and he often has).
I know it is difficult times for many so if you aren't in a position to donate, please know that Ell is grateful for everyone's support in all its forms.
Thanks for all your support of Ell and the boys,
Kristy Doyle
