I'm fundraising for James Ruegg, Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 3, struggled with various insulins and pumps, 3 life threatening bouts of Diabetic Ketoacidosis (one resulting in coma), multiple surgeries on his eyes, removal of all his teeth due to DKA vomiting, decreased Kidney function and constant issues with his feet. This is the reality that James has had to endure so far.

James Ruegg is a staple in the Crystal Beach, Ridgeway kitchen industry. If you’ve frequented the local restaurants then he’s likely cooked for you at one time or another.

Thanks to all the previous complications, the Ruegg family has now suffered yet another life changing blow.

After his health began to decline rapidly, James was diagnosed with a brain injury with irreversible brain damage. Neurologists are looking into surgical options to stop the progression, however all future plans, goals and dreams have been benched indefinitely.

Memory lapses, frequent confusion, co-ordination issues, motor skills decline, and Kidney and gastric complications have left him unable to work or participate in most normal activities. Aside from occasional days where symptoms are at their lowest, James is mainly housebound, requiring aid from his family.

The financial repercussions have been astronomical, with no clear end in site. These funds will help support James through daily living & additional expenses accrued with medical & inability to work due to illness.
