Help Support Serena’s Medical Expenses

Dear Friends,

As some of you know and others are not aware, Serena has been fighting with organ failure and other organ issues. This disease enlarges your organs and is very painful. She holds her spirit high as they’re doing tons of testing and labs to make a plan to treat her condition. As of now, Serena is in the hospital several times a month, not being able to fight this on her own. She becomes very nauseous, cannot keep food down, her blood counts go crazy, and the pain is unbearable at times. This has also caused malnutrition because she can’t keep anything down. Serena tries to stay positive, and I travel to Florida for care as much as I can, and her fiancé cares for her on top of working to try and support them both right now. These bills now are mounting up over $76,000 dollars so far. I’ve taken care of as much as I can with some help from my family and friends. Serena loves her life in Florida and has a great team watching her. Dr. S. Olsen is the liver specialist who has an amazing reputation, along with several doctors who watch over her weekly care, which is good that she is here where Maine doesn’t have as many resources as she is getting here. My granddaughter Serena is my firstborn. She is unable to work, for you never know when the pain she is in daily will turn to unbearable pain and nonstop vomiting occurs. So normal bills arise also. We hope every day for a miracle that this liver will show strength and mend on its own, but she may need a transplant. Her gallbladder also has issues and will be removed as soon as possible, but they need to wait for her to be strong enough for gallbladder surgery. So I am asking you as family and friends to help this burden be less. Thank you for any contribution you can give.
