I am Alexis and this fundraiser is for my mom- Laura Drake’s Recovery Journey.

What started as unexpected stomach pain quickly turned into a life-altering experience for Laura. After rushing to the ER, she underwent emergency surgery where doctors had to remove part of her intestines and colon. The diagnosis that followed was devastating—colon cancer.

Laura spent a month in the hospital bravely facing each day, and now begins the long road to recovery. She will need to use an Ostomy bag for the next year, which comes with a host of ongoing medical supply costs. In addition, she will begin chemotherapy treatment while gradually trying to return to work when she is able.

The financial burden of this journey is overwhelming, and we’re asking for your help. Your donation will go directly toward medical expenses, Ostomy supplies, and providing Laura the time and space she needs to heal without added financial stress.
