As many of you know, Dave Briggs has been an integral part of the Albuquerque community for over 43 years. Many years before tattoos; he was doing design work, paintings, drawings, murals, and even painting race cars! He began his journey as a tattoo artist and for the past decade has devoted himself to mural work—brightening businesses, neighborhoods, and countless lives with his art. Dave is not only a talented artist but also a beloved friend who has touched many people through his creativity and kindness.

Recently, Dave faced a life-altering challenge. After a lifelong battle with Type 1 diabetes, he developed serious complications that led to the loss of his left leg. He is now in a rehabilitation facility, working hard to learn how to walk again and cope with this profound change.

During this time, Dave is unable to work, and it is uncertain when he may be able to return to painting large-scale murals. We, his friends and family, are asking for your support to help cover his immediate needs while he recovers—things like rent, food, and other essentials.

Out of respect for Dave’s wishes, we ask the community to please honor his request for privacy regarding certain family members. Specifically, he has asked that no contact or information be shared with his sister, Paige. This includes details about his amputation or any updates about his recovery. We kindly and seriously ask everyone to respect this boundary, as honoring it is essential to Dave’s emotional wellbeing and healing process.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Dave’s life as he navigates this difficult journey.
