Help Support Antigua’s Donkey Sanctuary

My name is Christine MacMillan
and I live in southeast
Pennsylvania. I have been
volunteering my time and labor at
Antigua's Donkey Sanctuary for
two weeks each year since 2016
until Covid hit.
Antigua's Donkey Sanctuary is part of The Antigua and Barbuda Humane Society. The Sanctuary is on Antigua and rescues and houses and cares for abused and injured donkeys, as well as those causing damage to farmers' crops or creating traffic dangers. The care provided to these donkeys by the director and staff of the Sanctuary, whether veterinary, dental, farrier, or nutrition is heartwarming and very much needed on this island which has a large donkey population.
But Antigua is also plagued with serious droughts which worsen every year, making it very difficult to feed the donkeys. And veterinary bills, as well as other costs in caring for these amazing animals, can mount quickly. I have set up this page to provide an easy way for people who would like to help, donate to support Antigua's Donkey Sanctuary. I fund raise for Antigua's Donkey Sanctuary because I love those donkeys and I have a great respect for the people at the humane society who do so much with so little to rescue and keep these animals safe We are so grateful to everyone who has donated to our GoFundMe campaigns over the years and hope you will continue to support our cause.
1. The funds are withdrawn daily, in my name, from the GoFundMe site and are deposited into a bank account that I set up for the express purpose of this GoFundMe page for Antigua's Donkey Sanctuary. The sanctuary is owned and operated by the Antigua & Barbuda Humane Society (ABHS) 2. I will be wiring funds directly to the ABHS on a monthly basis (wire transfer documents will be available for review upon request) I handle the funds this way because the ABHS is not a US. based organization, so it was not possible to set up a direct withdrawal for them. This campaign was set up with the oversight and input provided by the executive director of the ABHS, Karen Corbin.
