Hi everyone I’m fundraising for for my daughter Aleena and myself. On August 15 our lives changed forever. Aleena had spent the summer in Milwaukee and was returning home to go on vacation with me before school started in the weeks to come. I noticed my daughter’s feet were swollen and took her to urgent care instead of on vacation. She was in cardiac failure. Her heart wasn’t working properly. From UC we went to UW Children’s Hospital. In the days to come Aleena had open hear surgery to place a LVAD heart pump to save her life. The pump does the job of the heart pumping blood through her body. In turn saving her life and healing her body from all the damage it had incurred. She was days from death. The surgery which took roughly 8 hrs was a success. Over the next 3 weeks Aleena’s body healed enough to go home and wait for a heart. We went home, what a miracle, for the weeks ahead we waited. After only 3 weeks at home we got the CALL!!! Sept 27 at 8pm Aleena went down for what was a lifetime. 14 hours later she came back up to me with her NEW HEART!!!!! Aleena worked diligently over the next 10 days and was released from the hospital. What a miracle!!!!! We’re home and doing well. A lot of out patient care and just time healing from it all. As a single parent trying to be here for my child, I haven’t worked since this has happened. I’m asking for help today so I can keep a roof over our heads until I can return to work. God bless ❤️
