Help Stop Romy's Pain
Donation protected
Romy was born extremely premature and only weighed 1 pound and 3 ounces. Because of her early birth she went on to be diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when she was 1 and epilepsy when she was 6. She’s 10 now.
Romy has undergone over 12 surgeries so far and has many more to come. She has taken her numerous surgeries and medical procedures in stride, and never complains. Even though she is in pain most of the time, she is a happy, loving, wonderful little girl.
Romy’s Cerebral Palsy cause her muscles to tighten and stiffen. Without surgery the pain will become excruciating and neverending. She is scheduled for spinal dorsal rhizotomy surgery – doctors will go through her spine to cut the nerves causing the tightness and pain in her legs and feet – later in the year.
The surgery is covered by insurance, but the intensive physical therapy sessions she needs prior to the surgery are not covered.
Romy needs two therapy sessions, which need to take place in June and July, and they cost $3,600 each. Any help you can provide would be wonderful, and so greatly appreciated!!!
