Help Save My Cat, Bella

edit: I would like to thank everyone who helped. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, Bella has crossed over the rainbow bridge. I’m sorry there couldn’t have been a more rewarding end to this. I’m just as distraught as everyone else is. I’m going to be refunding everyone.

Hi, hello. My name is Sierra, I'm 21 and I'm a full-time college student who is only able to go to college due to help from financial aid, which has luckily paid for everything I need for my first two years. I haven't been employed since COVID began and I am beginning work-study in Janraury, as you can imagine, this won't help right now. In August, I lost my other two cats within two weeks of each other, which was not a good start to my first semester at college. My mother is unemployed and disabled, she cannot help beyond driving me to the vet.

As for the issue, my 9 - almost 10 year old cat - Bella, has been suffering from seizures for a few years now. I figured when I had enough money, I would get her checked out by a vet to find the cause. Unfortunately, earlier this week, she tore part of one of her toes off. There was no bone exposure, just a lot of blood. Mom took care of her wound and we even teamed up to wrap her leg.

I was told she would be okay, but things have only gotten worse since. Bella had another seizure while I was at school and now can't use her right hind leg. Mom says she bit one of her joints. She is dragging herself to get around. To make matters worse, last night when I got home from school, we found her behind the water heater. She was absolutely soaked, shivering, and I could tell she wasn't okay. Mom dried her off, held her, and we've kept her in the bathroom to keep her safe when not home since.

Tonight, I came home to find she'd torn herself open again on a different toe, her breathing was whiny and raspy, and she could hardly meow. Mom cleaned her wound, we gave her water and food, she ate and drank and even grooms, but she's wobbly and I'm very concerned about her.

ALL the money provided will go towards taking her to an emergency vet and the bills. I don't know how much I will need yet, but I think $1,000 is a good estimate. Even if you cannot donate, spreading this around helps immensely. I just want my cat to be okay, I have had many wonderful years with her and I want many more. She is the equivalent of an ESA for me, and after losing two cats I need her to help me keep going in college.

If I do not use up all of the funds, I will try to find a way to return them. If I cannot return the funds, I will donate to other people who are having vet emergencies. Thank you for reading, thank you for donating, and thank you for sharing.
